SMS Notifications & Consent
Overview
Phillips Connect provides SMS notifications for critical, transactional alerts related to your account and connected assets. Users must explicitly opt in to receive SMS notifications.
Opt-In Instructions
- Users enter their mobile phone number and complete a verification step by entering a one-time code sent via SMS to confirm ownership of the number.
- After verification, SMS notifications are disabled by default. Users must take a separate, explicit action to enable SMS notifications by toggling SMS notifications within application settings.
- At the time of enabling SMS notifications, users are presented with clear disclosure language:
- “I agree to receive SMS account and asset notifications from Phillips Connect. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help and STOP to opt out.”
- No SMS messages are sent unless the user has completed both phone number verification and explicit opt-in to SMS notifications.
- The SMS consent checkbox/toggle is off by default and is not preselected.
- No messages are sent unless the user actively enables SMS notifications.
- A confirmation message is sent after opt-in is completed.
- We store the phone number, timestamp, and source of consent for our records.
Opt-Out Instructions
- Users can opt out at any time by replying STOP
- Users can also disable SMS notifications in application settings
Message Type
Phillips Connect SMS messages are transactional in nature and include alerts such as critical system notifications, asset status updates, and operational events. These messages are not promotional or marketing messages.
